Among these the travelling bubble type is the most interesting, and non-conventional concepts such as absolute negative pressure are necessary to describe the phenomena.

The author developed several specific experimental methods for a bleeding system used in conventional pumps and two-phase pumping. Also included is a description of measuring equipment related to nuclei by optical methods or micro-venture, which are now being used in routine tests in several laboratories. Later, other types of cavitation are described, including cavitation noise. Cavitation erosion consideration forms the subject of an important section together with methods making it practically possible to predict cavitation damage at full scale.

Another section concerns the effects of cavitation performance of rotating machinery.
